With an exciting collection of new games that are arriving in January, Sony is preparing to revive the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog for Extra and Premium users. At the forefront is the ‘God of War Ragnarök’ (PS4 and PS5), a game that has managed to capture the attention of players for years.
In this grand 2022 saga, players join Kratos and his son Atreus on a quest to stop a calamity that threatens to destroy the world. The talented team at Santa Monica Studio introduced a free roguelite mode to the original game in late 2023.
In this mode, Kratos can harness both permanent as well as temporary upgrades boosting the thrill of each run. If the players have not experienced it yet, it is advised that they dive into God of War before tackling Ragnarök. The narrative from the 2018 instalment seamlessly transitions into the sequel and it is an exceptional game in its own right. Luckily, God of War is also part of the Game Catalog.
Another significant title making its debut is the mesmerizing rhythm action game, ‘Sayonara Wild Hearts’ (PS4). This captivating experience is about a young woman who is on a journey to fix her broken heart. She aims to do so through a series of creative levels, each accompanied by a pop-music soundtrack.
Initially, it was launched on Apple Arcade, however, it is no longer available on the platform. Additionally, the critically acknowledged sci-fi RPG Citizen Sleeper will join the lineup just ahead of the highly anticipated squeal, Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector, which is set to release on the 31st of January.
There other other exciting newcomers to the Extra tier such as Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name (PS4 and PS5), the action-adventure title ANNO: Mutationem (PS4 and PS5), Poker Club (PS4), etc.
