Perhaps the biggest title in the Ubisoft roster, Assassin’s Creed III, is finally getting the update long anticipated by fans after years of waiting. First introduced in 2012 on multiple platforms, it includes PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360, Assassin’s Creed III has featured Ratonhnhaké:ton, or Connor, as one of the most overlooked titles in this beloved Ubisoft franchise.
However, in recent times, it would seem that fans are starting to take notice and recognize this wondrous piece as it deserves. The game transports players back to the American Colonies in the year 1775, a time of civil unrest and political upheaval, into the life of a Native American assassin determined to be the defender of his homeland and his people, and kindles in that act the fires of a brewing revolution.
“Assassin’s Creed III transports you to the American Revolutionary War, but it’s a narrative far richer than what you might find in history books,” reads the summary of the game.
In today’s gaming world, it seems as if acquiring achievements and trophies for all those virtual goals is a common feature. Everyone else does it, except Nintendo, which has yet to adopt this very standard.
Except for the Steam version for PC, Assassin’s Creed III has doled out achievements and trophies to players right from its original release, when it was launched.
However, as noted by Comicbook.com (via Steam), players can now get Steam achievements in Assassin’s Creed III/Remastered, as well as its Tyranny of King Washington expansion and Assassin’s Creed Liberation.
“Complete challenges and unlock achievements as you journey through Connor’s epic story. Whether you’re a completionist or casually exploring the frontier, there’s something for everyone to aim for,” reads a recent blog post on Steam.
In addition, if you’ve already achieved some objectives in the game, fans would get retroactive unlocking of these achievements once their progress syncs to Steam.
