Xbox addresses cloud gaming

On December 28, Xbox revealed a solution for the problem plaguing Xbox Cloud Gaming and other web services. These web services including Remote Play have been successfully implemented.

Players who earlier faced issues with slow loading time or were unable to launch their games should now figure out that they can access their cloud titles as expected.

Despite this announcement, some users have reported some lingering problems with extended launch times, likely aggravated by the increase in demand during the holiday season. Microsft has not offered a detailed explanation for the root cause of the issues or the reasons that are behind the delay in deploying the fix.

While Xbox Cloud Gaming and other related web series have experienced outages in certain regions, support teams are actively working to fix these challenges.

The initial outage was communicated through official Xbox channels on the 26th of December. It has been noted by the players that Xbox Cloud Games either fail to start or disconnect unexpectedly after launching. As per Xbox’s Status page, a fix was in the works, but the deployment took much longer than expected.

Recently, Xbox Support’s social media accounts indicated that some players were facing inaccurately high wait times when trying to launch cloud games. Support teams have made sure that the games were meant to begin more quickly than what was being displayed.

Not every region with access to Xbox Cloud Gaming and Remote Play services experienced limited functionality during the outage. However, no clear ideas have been identified by Xbox about the areas that have been affected the most.

Although Xbox has not specified the reasons behind the service disruption, the lengthy wait times are accompanied by a message mentioning, ‘Lots of people are playing!’ It has been suggested that the servers for Xbox Cloud Gaming might be under some strain because of the holiday rush.
