Different hints and leaks during the holiday season have sparked speculations that an announcement for Half-Life 3 could be on the horizon. It could be potentially within a few weeks or at least some time this year.
While rumors about Half-Life 3 are not new, a few recent leaks appear to be of more weightage than usual, especially one from an individual who seems to have insider knowledge about the project.
The initial signs of activity regarding Half-Life emerged a few days ago when Valve insider Gabe Follower who is known for accurately reporting on Deadlock prior to its public reveal. It was disclosed that an internal build of Half-Life 3 is right now undergoing testing at Valve, involving the developer’s friends and family.
In addition to several updates that might hint at a new installment in the Half-Life series. Though they seem somewhat coincidental, Gabe followers have hinted that a playtest for HalfLife 3 has started, based on information from a source within Valve.
Closed playlists are a familiar practice for Valve, they conduct similar sessions for Half-Life Alyx and Deadlock before their official announcements. It has played a crucial role in refining the visual presentation of Deadlock.
Another intriguing hint suggesting that HalfLife 3 could be imminent, comes from Mike Shapiro who is the voice actor for G Man in the HalfLife series. A video was shared by Mike Sharpio which included content that was associated with the franchise.
The tweets publicized by Sharpio often carry different hashtags including #GMan, #Valve, and #HalfLife which indicates that a new development related to HailLife is underway.
Sharpio has often remained quiet on X ever since the release of HalfLife Alyx, unlike another voice actor whose tweets can be regarded as New Year greetings, which is why the tweets can be considered as an unexpected tease.
